Blessed! …. Proud of You!
Two weeks into 2026.
Two weeks. That’s it.
And somehow, I feel like my mind has already lived through about six months!
2026 has come in like a whirlwind for me. My thoughts seem to flip-flop from one extreme to another on a daily basis. Sometimes, if I’m being truthful, from one hour to another.
There are so many ideas floating around in this visionary mind of mine. So many things I want to do. Things I want to create. Places I want to go. Memories I want to make. Dreams I still want to chase. Things I want to change. Things I want to accomplish.
There are moments when I can almost SEE it all.
And then…
Here come the fears!
The fears that somehow manage to sneak in and attack those visions. The fears that try to override my hopes and my dreams. The fears that whisper all the reasons something won’t work, can’t happen, or isn’t possible.
And some days, it is exhausting.
Life is really, really hard.
I don’t think we say that enough.
We walk around asking each other, “How are you?” and most of us answer, “Fine.”
But are we? Really????
Sometimes I look around at everything people are carrying and I wonder, How in the world do people keep going?
And yet, somehow, we do.
I look at my own life, and I can honestly say this:
I am blessed.
Overall, I am 100% blessed.
Does that mean my life is perfect?
Oh goodness, NOooooooo!
I have a gazillion problems.
I have fears. I have traumas that I continue to deal with. I have financial burdens and worries. I have aches and pains. I have disappointments. I have things I wish were different. I have questions about my future that I don’t have answers to.
I have days when my mind simply will not shut off.
But even in the middle of all of that, I can look at my life and say:
I am blessed.
And today, this blog really isn’t just about me.
It’s about YOU.
I know so many people—dear friends, family members, acquaintances, and people whose stories have crossed mine—who are suffering in ways that others may never completely understand.
Some are dealing with illness.
Some are grieving.
Some are lonely.
Some are struggling financially.
Some are carrying family problems.
Some are fighting battles inside their own minds.
Some are trying desperately to figure out what comes next.
And some are simply trying to make it through today.
So I want to give every single one of you a shout-out right now.
I AM PROUD OF YOU.
Seriously.
I am proud of you for waking up today.
I am proud of you for opening your eyes when maybe you didn’t even want to.
I am proud of you for facing another day when yesterday took everything you had.
Whatever you are going through, whatever you are carrying, and however heavy it feels right now—please know that you matter.
You are loved.
You are blessed.
And whether you realize it or not, you are an inspiration to someone.
So if today is one of those really hard days, try something for me.
Get up.
Splash some water on your face.
Brush your teeth.
Then look at yourself in the mirror.
Really look at yourself.
And SMILE.
Even if you don’t feel like smiling.
Look at that person staring back at you and say:
I am awake.
I am alive.
I am blessed.
Because you are still here. And that means your story isn’t finished.
And please, please don’t ever believe that sharing your struggles means you are complaining!!!!!
Tell your story….. Please!
Share the hard parts.
Talk about the things that hurt.
Talk about the things you’ve survived.
Talk about the days when you weren’t sure you could keep going—but somehow you did.
Because believe it or not, sharing your story can help YOU heal while helping someone else realize they aren’t alone.
That isn’t complaining.
That is connecting.
That is encouraging.
That is inspiring.
That is giving someone else a reason to say, “If they can keep going, maybe I can too.”
Maybe that’s one of the things we need more of in 2026.
Less pretending.
More honesty.
More compassion.
More people willing to say, “Life is hard for me too, but I’m still here.”
Because we never really know who needs to hear our story.
We never know who is watching us get back up.
We never know who desperately needs the hope that our survival can give them.
So here I am, two weeks into 2026.
My mind is still going a million miles an hour.
My visionary brain is still overflowing with ideas.
My fears are still trying to get louder than my dreams.
My life is still far from perfect.
But I’m here.
I’m awake.
I’m alive.
And I am blessed.
And so are you.
Keep going.
Your story matters.
And somewhere along the way, your story just might become the reason someone else decides to keep going too.
Here’s to the first two weeks of 2026—and to every single one of us who got up today and decided to try again.
Pondering what 2026 will bring …..
